Position Overview

The Accounting Assistant will play an integral role within the company's direct costing team. This position supports job cost accounting, serves as a backup for Accounts Payable, and assists with certified payroll reporting (similar to Union payroll). Due to the depth of training and responsibility, this is a permanent, full-time onsite role with strong growth potential, particularly in payroll ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Support job cost accounting activities within the accounting department.
• Provide backup coverage for Accounts Payable functions.
• Prepare and maintain certified payroll reports in compliance with required standards.
• Assist with the transition to the Foundation ERP accounting platform.
• Collaborate closely with a small team of three within the direct costing area.
• Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality across all accounting processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in job cost accounting required.
• Working knowledge of payroll processes, ideally with exposure to certified or union payroll.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work onsite daily and contribute to a close-knit team environment.
• Prior experience with ERP systems is a plus; willingness to learn the Foundation platform is essential.
